OTNhub eVisit Chat Privacy Considerations

High quality videoconferencing provides users with the ability to connect face-to-face virtually, anytime and anywhere with their healthcare provider using smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. Enabling a chat functionality while engaged in a videoconference provides better service for hearing impaired patients.

The chat feature will have the following functionalities to allow individuals to better manage their privacy:

  • Messages are visible to everyone in the eVisit and available only while the eVisit is in progress.
  • Messages cannot be deleted or edited after being sent.
  • Chat messages are not available once the video call has ended.
  • Chat messages are neither stored nor archived.
  • Messages can include links, that let you share published images, videos, files, or websites.
  • The chat panel also shows when participants join or leave the eVisit.
