BEACON Suspicion of Cancer Service
BEACON Suspicion of Cancer Service supports people with persistent, progressive or unexplained symptoms suspicious for cancer, particularly when there is no clear path to a diagnosis.
Our goal is to make sure that these individuals receive timely, coordinated and equitable diagnostic care.
BEACON is an acronym for Building Enhanced Assessment for Cancer in Ontarians with Notable symptoms. This diagnostic service is offered through three pilot sites in Ontario.

How We Support Patients and Providers
- Provide clinical guidance to support appropriate referral, investigation selection and diagnostic management
- Coordinate diagnostic assessment and follow-up across care teams
- Navigate patients through the system, ensuring timely progression of care
- Connect patients to the most appropriate service or specialist, regardless of diagnosis
- Support equitable access through tailored navigation for underserved and unattached patients
