Strategic Priorities and Business Plan

Our strategic priorities keep us focused on the things that matter most to us. They help set the direction for our business plan, which guides the work we do every day to improve the health of people in Ontario. Annual review of these priorities and plans means we can deliver on our mandate while responding to evolving health care needs.

Strategic Priorities

Our work is guided by five long-term strategic priorities:

  • Reduce health inequities
  • Transform care with the person at the centre
  • Enhance clinical care and service excellence
  • Maximize system value by applying evidence
  • Strengthen Ontario Health’s ability to lead

Business Plans

Our annual business plan sets out our overarching goals, priorities and key activities for the next three years. It is the blueprint that guides our work as we build for the future.

Health System Plans

The work set out in our business plan is supplemented by strategic initiatives already in progress from the agencies that came together to make up Ontario Health. These are set out in the following plans:

  • Ontario Cancer Plan
A comprehensive road map that sets out goals, and strategic objectives for improving the provincial cancer system. Also see these companion reports:
  • Ontario Renal Plan
Goals and strategic objectives for improving the chronic kidney disease system in Ontario.
  • CorHealth Strategic Plan
A plan to advance cardiac, stroke and vascular care for Ontario patients.
