Breaking Free Program Enrolment Ending

Breaking Free is an online tool that helps people in Ontario manage their substance use issues.

New enrolments to the Breaking Free program will end on March 31, 2024.

Breaking Free was introduced in June 2021 as a strategic response to the increase in substance use issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. The tool was funded by the Ministry of Health and procured by Ontario Health to help those struggling with substance use disorders manage their own addiction treatment online.

Breaking Free has served many people in Ontario living with substance use concerns during a time of unprecedented global crisis. Now that we are returning to traditional face-to-face service delivery, we are winding down the service.

As of April 1, 2024, Breaking Free will no longer be available for enrolment

As of April 1, 2024, Breaking Free will no longer be available for new enrolments in Ontario. If you have patients enrolled in the program, they will continue to have full access to the service for two years from their initial enrolment date.

If you have patients considering the service, they can register until March 31, 2024. The service will then remain available for two years from their enrolment date.
