Patient and Family Advisors: Ontario Health Regions

Patient and Family Advisors who are engaged with Ontario Health Regions are providing advice at the system level, specific to regional policy and program design.

Advisors have valuable first-hand experience and insights into the local health care needs, what’s currently working and how to improve the system to continue to meet future needs of our community.

Sharing your own or your community’s experience related to a topic can guide discussions and decision-making for policies and programs that can help improve the health of all people in Ontario.

Patient and family advisors are engaged in a variety of ways including:

  • joining a committee or working group and attending regular meetings
  • participating in focus groups
  • completing surveys

Diversity and geographical representation matters.
