Position Summary
Ontario Health (Trillium Gift of Life Network [TGLN]) is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Transplant Medical Advisor – Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA), Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN). This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership to the evolution of the Ontario Transplant system. This opportunity is open to all qualified candidates.

Accountabilities
The goals of the Transplant Medical Advisor – – Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) role include both clinical and education support to TGLN staff, transplant programs, and donor hospitals. They will support specific provincial initiatives and provide specialty expertise to programs.
The primary responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Support the development of provincial standards on HLA testing and matching in transplantation
- Providing medical direction to TGLN staff, transplant programs and donor hospitals as it relates to HLA for organ donation and transplantation
- Lead and chair the HLA Working Group and participate in organ specific working groups as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in organ transplantation and HLA
- Actively practicing physician and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and other relevant college
- Understanding of Ontario's health care system, health care delivery program operations, community-based health care delivery models and related regulations
- Ability to apply your knowledge when providing strategic advice and ensure that project planning and management standards meet the business needs of stakeholders
- Issues management and strategic orientation skills to link current actions to strategies or long-term perspective
- Ability to champion excellence using consultation, communication and relationship management skills and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources
- Well-developed influencing, negotiating, consensus and counseling skills
- Highly developed time management skills and ability to prioritize
- Strong written and oral skills
