Dr. Randi McCabe receives 2023 Canadian Psychology Association Award

Congratulations to Dr Randi McCabe for being selected by the Board of Directors of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) to receive the 2023 CPA Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology as a Profession. Dr. McCabe is Ontario Health’s Provincial Clinical Lead, Depression and Anxiety-Related Disorders, in the Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence.

This award is presented to the association’s members or fellows who have made a significant contribution to Canadian psychology as a profession and who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Whose work has influenced the method, settings, and/or persons involved in applied practice, in ways of significant benefit to the profession and its clients
  • Whose empirical research has enhanced the knowledge base of professional psychology
  • Whose influence has been exerted through leadership as a teacher, as a clinician, as a theorist, and/or as a spokesperson in public and/or professional arenas
  • Whose work has had the effect of bringing about changes in practice or training performed by others, or redirection of efforts in applied work

Dr. McCabe is a clinical psychologist and Clinical Director of Mood and Anxiety Services at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. She is also a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.
