Leadership from the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) and Ontario Health gathered today at ONWA’s Mindimooyenh Health Clinic to sign a historic relationship protocol.

As Ontario Health (Trillium Gift of Life Network) prepares for its annual Be a Donor Month campaign this April, the focus remains on raising awareness and promoting advocacy for organ and tissue donation and transplantation in Ontario.

The Ontario Health Mental Health and Addiction Centre of Excellence has recruited five individuals to provincial roles in support of the following clinical areas of focus: Depression and Anxiety-Related Disorders (including a dedicated Indigenous Clinical Lead), Schizophrenia and Psychosis, Substance Use Disorders and Eating Disorders.

Following a first year spent helping lay the foundation for health system transformation, the Ontario Health Board of Directors has been reappointed. It will also be joined by a new member.

Ontario Health President and CEO Matthew Anderson said that the province’s new Mental Health and Addictions Plan is a great step forward in building a system that makes high quality mental health and addictions services available to Ontarians who need them, when they need them, regardless of where in the province they live.
